In order to develop a weight loss meal plan that works, you will need to go through a simple but consistent process. This process will not only allow you to develop an effective diet plan, it will also allow you to have an easier time achieving your weight loss goals. So without further ado, here's how you can create your own effective weight loss meal plan.

Step 1 - Make a list of foods that you should eat during each meal. Different meals should have different types of food, so it helps to diversify your list as much as possible. A healthy weight loss meal plan should include proteins, fruits, vegetables, starch and a few protein snacks. Use this pattern as a guideline for how much calories, proteins and nutrients your body gets during each meal.

Step 2 - Next, you will need to choose you portions sizes. Portion sizes refer to how much of a particular food you are allowed to eat per meal. For example, five ounces of tofu is equivalent to a single unit of protein, which means that if you want to gain 2 units of protein per meal then you will need to eat ten ounces of tofu.

Step 3 - Create a list of foods for each meal. An effective meal plan for weight loss involves planning each meal ahead of time based on how much calories and nutrients you want your body to receive during the weight loss period. For example, if you're following a low calorie intake weight loss diet plan then a good breakfast should include some fish (or lean meat, poultry and several ounces of tofu) and a fruit. However, if you are following a high calorie diet then you can add some extra food, such as an extra serving of fruit or vegetable.

Step 4 - Finally, make sure that your meal plan compliments your weight loss program. A good weight loss meal plan will reduce your calorie intake, but those calories still need to be burned, which is why you need to make sure that your weight loss program is capable of burning up all the extra calories that your meal plan brings into your body.
